I was so excited to be asked to photograph Monica and Ben's wedding in the deep south! We were absolutely spoilt for choice with photo spots. The dramatic Catlins landscape is simply beautiful!
Every aspect of Monica and Ben’s day was so well thought out. From spending hours the day before decorating the Kuramea Lodge hall, to having their ceremony under the impressive huge macrocarpa trees.
An amazingly versatile venue, Kuramea Lodge offered accommodation for Ben and his groomsmen prior to the wedding and also hosted a majority of their guests on the wedding night.
Monica and her bridesmaids got ready at Tiromoana. A most stunning holiday home with incredible views of The Catlins in every direction!
Having their ceremony under the big old macrocarpa trees was just the perfect setting. Monica’s moving entrance was accompanied by the bagpipes. Even Reggie the dog helped sing along!
After their ceremony we ventured to Punakaunaui Falls, a popular tourist spot in The Catlins. These two and their bridal party were absolute troopers negotiating the short track down to the amazing falls for photos.
We then headed back to the Kuramea Lodge hall for their reception which kicked off with some fantastic speeches, followed by dinner and Monica and Ben’s first dance.
What a most memorable day with this amazing couple!! So much love surrounding them from extraordinary family and friends. I felt so welcomed by everyone. It was an absolute privilege to capture your special day - thank you so much! xx
